TRANS TONGUES Anthology & Exhibition

Following on from our sold out mini-journal series, we are excited to bring you a new anthology and exhibition of writing and art by trans makers.

Our transness is being contested, by the media, by TERFs, by the government. They are coming for our right to exist, to change, to become. To live well, to live gloriously. Trans Tongues is not for them.

​

Trans Tongues is full of trans life, chest tape and NHS leaflets, toilets and injections, parents and lovers, friends and community. It is also full of trans imagination, ghostly houses and slipper limpets and worms. The work takes the form of manifestos and love poems, paintings and photography. It is at times painful and tender, at others, hot and hungry: a feast.

Trans makers open their mouths, tell trans stories through their teeth, fill pages and exhibition walls with words and images that fall off their tongues. 

​

Trans Tongues is for us, and we hope you enjoy spending time with the book and the exhibition.

The exhibition will be running at BRIC. Gallery | Cafe in London throughout November during the opening hours of the venue. BRIC. Gallery | Cafe is open Tuesday through Friday from 8am - 3pm, and Saturday from 9am - 3pm.​​​​​​​​
