We watched her in a field as the sun was setting, her decks and mic covered in flowers, the bondage swing placed stage right

The tracks kept cutting out - the wild distorted chopped pop of it all - disrupted deliciously by numerous technical failures

“I like your hat”

“SOPHIE is everywhere in this”

“Keep me safe in your bubble” I asked my friends…when someone I knew from queer clubs 20 years ago resurfaced from somewhere in the crowd grinning manically and hugging me so hard she almost pulled me to the ground

Do not touch

No reunions - no old friends - let me be ever new

Like this music - glitching, fucking up, sprawling, fizzing, almost unlistenable

I’m not very nostalgic…I read this New York performance artist once describe it as ‘yesterbating’

A few people wander away halfway through the set bemused, unable to dance to the lack of a consistent beat

And in this artist’s pure and chaotic genius I find the most peace

Creating the constantly shifting world I’d like to see through sound

Let me stay here in this beautiful mass of heavenly trans and queer bodies

My friends seem high, I can’t stop laughing

I work in radio, love to DJ with my best pal (as Ghost School) and live in Hackney, London.
