ASSEMBLY by Lydia Patra (Monfort)
MEDIUM: plaster & metal
Lydia Patra (Nickname Monfort) was born in Athens, Greece, in 1997. She graduated from the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens in 2022. From September of 2019 to February of 2020 she lived in Porto, Portugal, due to university exchange. During her studies in Athens she was working as a junior Architect mainly in the field of renovation and reconstruction. However, architecture is not only about the buildings. And Monfort is not just an architect. She rethinks the way we- the contemporary human beings-cyborgs- are dealing with ourselves and are involved with each other. She wants to give birth to new ways of expression and also tries to think and act collectively. She is currently working in the field of Architecture but she also uses different forms of art, photography, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, in order to cope with the endless horror -and infinite magic- of existence. Last but -totally- not least, Monfort is to be really passionate about sculpture, photography and the cinema. She also enjoys oysters and studying Deleuze (which is not as irrelevant as it may seem)
ARTIST STATEMENT:
Unit. Module. Assembly. Exploring oneself is not a self-centered process. Looking for the repressed desire, the unfathomable exist, the non-fulfillment of a belonging, sometimes leads to a climax rather than a zone. Do they look alike? Could they create a whole? They mostly act like a mechanism. Like bodies in touch. As if they are made to connect and multiply in order to create the new. Interconnected old parts redistribute their capacity into a new form that contains different narratives and enough fluidity in their nucleus. Connections and rearrangements are giving rise to a self-organized system and just like social bodies on all scales, they are best analyzed through their individual components. This is an experimental approach to examine how an assemblage would be, if out of gypsum. How many identicals tend to infinity, through expansion?

Rosemary Chea
My name is Rosemary Chea aka illuroses. A tired illustrator who makes silly animal stickers, fanart and pretty illustrations to escape into.
"Nightly Anxiety" is a piece exactly as it's told. It encapsulates that tight, suffocating feeling wrapping around your heart as you lay to sleep, anxious about the incoming day, month, year. Should I stay awake? Should I sleep forever? A secret I hide away in a little, fragile jewellery box adorned with little joys.
